Spelling in the room 15...

The children have been hard at work with the WordLab spelling programme. The children have been really engaged with their learning.

  • Each week there are a set of spelling charts explored, usually 3 to 4 charts per week.
  • Each day the spelling chart has a spelling pattern which the children inquire about and discuss. We, as a class, explore the word's definition, syllables, spelling pattern and draw a picture associated with the word - each child chooses 3 words from the chart and these are written up in a grid.
  • Each day we also have a 'Word of the Day' which we, as a class, explore. This word doesn't have a spelling pattern.

**Check out the spelling programme online for more information: www.literacyinnovators.co.nz**
